Kiosks and Computer Lounges

To assist in the use of IT facilities at UTS has been additions to the normal UTS Computing Laboratories. Available are Internet Kiosks and Computer Lounges. These facilities allow student to have quick access points to read their email and use Internet search capabilities and work in groups without disturbing other students study.

Internet Kiosks

Internet Kiosks can be found at both Broadway and Market Labs click here for maps and lab listings.

Internet Kiosks are computers that can be used for checking your email or surfing the web. They are not connected to a printer and do not have any other software on them except browsers and basic software. You can save onto the computer but anything will be deleted as soon as you log out. There are no floppy drives on the iMacs so any files will have to be attached into your UTS WEBmail account and downloaded and saved within a computer lab or computer lounge.

Logging into the Internet Kiosk is the same as logging into any UTS General Access Computing Facility and you will require a UTS Email/ Lab Access Account, click here for more information.

Internet Kiosks are a mixture iMacs and PC at Braodway, Markets and Kuring gai campuses.

UTS Public Spaces Computer Lounges

Computer Lounges are also only located at Markets and Broadway, click here for actual locations.

Computer Lounge machines are set up exactly as all other computers in the UTS General Access Computing Facilities, the only two differences is that they are not set up in a lab environment or connected to a printer. These machines are good for group assignments so that sound does not annoy other students and for working on any coursework that does not require printing.
