LAB ACCESS

To use all the UTS General Access Facilities At UTS, including Computer Laboratories, Internet Kiosks, Computer Lounges and the Wireless network, you will need to activate your UTS Email and Access Account, which is also linked to your UTS Email Account. When you activate one you activate the other and you use your login and password for both accounts.

What does a UTS Email and Access account give me?

  • You automatically have access to Labs, Internet Kiosks, Wireless network and Computer Lounge areas.
  • This account is also used to gain access to Virtual Lab, Student One Admin and IT Purchasing discounted software and hardware.

How do I use my UTS Email and Access account?
To use your access account just go to any of the UTS General Access Facilities (a complete listing is available here).

Go to the login screen on the computer and use your UTS Email and Access account login and password that you were given when you activated your account to gain entry to the computer. Your login is your UTS Student ID number and your password should be your own personal one that you created.

Important note on access
All users of UTS General Access Facilities are bound by a set of rules. These rules are designed to ensure maximum benefit from the facilities for all students. The full rules are posted in each lab and any person found in breach of any of the rules will be asked to leave. ITD Staff or UTS Security can exclude you from lab use up to 7 days under this rule.

All University Computing Facilities are to be used exclusively for the purposes concerning your study. Misuse, damage to property, security breaches, harassment or offensive behaviour will result in disciplinary action. The Acceptable Use of IT Facilities Policy covers all UTS IT facilities including e-mail accounts. Go to http://www.gsu.uts.edu.au/policies/itfacilities.html to read the full policy.

Logout!
Please log out of your UTS Email and Access account and computers after you have finished. This will stop non-UTS people using the computers or other students using your account. If you do not log off and someone else uses your account, you will become accountable for any unauthorised use.
